Entering Descaling Mode & Full Descale Cycle

Ensure the button showed the descaling alert recently by blinking orange 3 times before steady white.
Open the head, eject any used capsule, and empty the capsule container and drip tray, then reinsert them.
Fill the tank with 0.5 L / 17 fl oz of water and add 1 unit of Nespresso descaling liquid.
Remove the cup support and place a ≥1 L empty container under the coffee outlet.
Close the head and leave the lever in the unlock position.
Press and hold the button for ~7 s until the light turns off and begins fast orange blinking.
You have 45 seconds for the next step.
Lock the lever to the left, then unlock to the right.
Press and hold the button again for ~7 s until the light turns off and resumes fast orange blinking.
Lock the lever left again to confirm entry into descaling mode.

Press the button once to start the descaling phase.
The button blinks orange rapidly during the process.
The machine stops automatically when the first phase is complete.
Do not open the head while liquid is flowing.

Rinse the tank and drip tray thoroughly.
Fill the tank with fresh drinking water and place it back.
Empty the container and place it again under the outlet.
Press the button once to run the rinse.
The machine stops automatically and the light turns steady when complete.
Wash the capsule container, cup support, and drip tray with hot water and mild odorless detergent.
Dry the machine with a clean towel and let it sit for ~10 minutes before use.
